Drug Addiction
The modern age is plagued by drug addiction, which often leads to the addicts’ premature and miserable death. Drug addiction is the practice of using illegal substances for pleasure. Some of the common drugs abused in our country are opium, hemp, heroine, morphine, yaba, phensidyl etc. Drug addiction is the tendency to consume excessive amounts of drugs without any medical need but to escape from reality. There are many factors that contribute to drug addiction. Some of them are unemployment, political instability, weak family bonds and lack of love and care. Drugs induce a state of illusion and the drug users forget everything for a while and live in a fantasy world. Drug addiction has many negative consequences not only for the users but also for the society and nation at large. Drugs have a harmful effect on the human body. The users feel sleepy and their nervous system deteriorates gradually causing brain damage which leads to death. When the users cannot afford to buy drugs, they resort to various kinds of criminal activities and become a burden on others. The addicts need to be treated by both the government and non-government organizations as well as their parents and helped to lead a happy and peaceful life in society.
মাদকাসক্তি
আধুনিক যুগ মাদকাসক্তিতে জর্জরিত, যা প্রায়শই আসক্তদের অকাল ও দুঃখজনক মৃত্যুর দিকে নিয়ে যায়। মাদকাসক্তি হল আনন্দের জন্য অবৈধ পদার্থ ব্যবহার করার অভ্যাস। আমাদের দেশে অপব্যবহার করা কিছু সাধারণ মাদকদ্রব্য হল আফিম, ভাঙ্গা, হিরোইন, মরফিন, ইয়াবা, ফেনসিডিল ইত্যাদি। মাদকাসক্তি হল বাস্তবতা থেকে বাঁচার জন্য কোনো চিকিৎসা প্রয়োজন ছাড়াই অতিরিক্ত মাত্রায় মাদক সেবন করার প্রবণতা। মাদকাসক্তিতে অবদান রাখে এমন অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে কিছু বেকারত্ব, রাজনৈতিক অস্থিতিশীলতা, দুর্বল পারিবারিক বন্ধন এবং ভালবাসা ও যত্নের অভাব। মাদকদ্রব্য একটি বিভ্রম সৃষ্টি করে এবং মাদক সেবনকারীরা কিছু সময়ের জন্য সবকিছু ভুলে কল্পনার জগতে বাস করে। মাদকাসক্তি শুধু ব্যবহারকারীদের জন্যই নয়, সমাজ ও জাতির জন্যও অনেক নেতিবাচক পরিণতি ডেকে আনে। মাদক মানবদেহে ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব ফেলে। ব্যবহারকারীরা ঘুমন্ত বোধ করেন এবং তাদের স্নায়ুতন্ত্র ধীরে ধীরে খারাপ হয়ে যায় যার ফলে মস্তিষ্কের ক্ষতি হয় যা মৃত্যুর দিকে পরিচালিত করে। ব্যবহারকারীরা যখন মাদক কেনার সামর্থ্য রাখে না, তখন তারা বিভিন্ন ধরনের অপরাধমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডের আশ্রয় নেয় এবং অন্যের বোঝা হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। মাদকাসক্তদের সরকারী ও বেসরকারী উভয় সংস্থার পাশাপাশি তাদের পিতামাতার দ্বারা চিকিত্সা করা এবং সমাজে সুখী ও শান্তিপূর্ণ জীবনযাপনে সহায়তা করা দরকার।
